MONDAY MORNINGS

MONDAY MORNINGS

I recently met 20 new angels …..maybe saints, not sure how to tell the difference. It’s been a long, way-too-hot summer here in Sacramento. Couldn’t go outside for longer than a few minutes during the many triple-digit-days. And just as bad as the heat keeping us inside, our furry-four-legged-pal, Mr Lincoln was on seven different medications around the clock for a month, making it pretty tough to stray far from home even in the air conditioned car as it was…

THE TENS

THE TENS

I don’t remember much about turning ten other than being excited that my age was now double digits. And of course, three more years to thirteen. WISDOM? Well, everyone knows that teenagers know everything!   Twenty?   I cried. I felt like twenty was in the middle of nowhere.   I loved being a teenager and at twenty I was kicked outta that club but still not old enough to be considered an adult.  Just kinda suspended for a year,…

UNJUSTLY ACCUSED

UNJUSTLY ACCUSED

“There’s two sides to every story.”  That’s what my attorney-friend always says when I begin telling him a tale.  “YES, two sides” I tease….”mine which is the truth and the other side which is either grossly exaggerated or just a plain ole lie.” And, I AM teasin’ when I say that.   I realize that most times, there ARE two sides of the same tale; two different takes on the same happening. But have you ever been in a situation…

GREEN JELLO FOR BREAKFAST?

GREEN JELLO FOR BREAKFAST?

Tuesday, July 24th NOT what I usually eat for breakfast, but it’s on the list of things I’m allowed to “eat” today. If I can see through it, I can eat it; the Clear Liquid Creed. I gotta really be able to see right through.  I guess visualizing through it doesn’t count? It said I could have a cup of coffee with no cream.  I tried to see through the black coffee but couldn’t so thought if maybe I added…

A BACKWARD TRIP

A BACKWARD TRIP

There’s a casino not far from where we live and during the summer they do outdoor concerts. Many of the performers are great groups and singles from our past….. an awesome time in music history. We’ve been avid concert-goers since these artists were on top, but even after all these years, it’s still a thrill to be there in live person and spend a couple hours with music that marked our lives. And, they’re still rockin’ it! It’s a fairly…

RIGHT NEIGHBORLY OF YOU…..JACKASS!!!!!

RIGHT NEIGHBORLY OF YOU…..JACKASS!!!!!

My family takes morning walks; Mr Lincoln in the stroller, LooLoo on the leash and Bobfone and I on foot. LooLoo is still rehabbing from her ACL repair and her P/T exercise is walking 30 minutes a day so that’s what we do; we walk 30 minutes every morning through our neighborhood. It’s a lovely neighborhood.   The oldest homes are just about 40 years old and many are newer.   Lots of huge trees and flowers everywhere…..just a real…

WE ARE WOMEN HEAR US ROAR!

WE ARE WOMEN HEAR US ROAR!

I’m dedicating this Blog to women…..younger women, older women, all women and especially to YOU reading my words this moment. And to my men friends please come along and keep reading. The message I’m trying to convey is not about bashing men.  But I don’t know how else to say what I’m feeling inside of me. So I guess your perception of my words is gonna have to be your reality on this one. Bashing men is not my point…

WOMB TAXI

WOMB TAXI

It’s hard for me to accept things I don’t understand and maybe that’s nothing unique to me. Maybe there’s lots of us who need to understand.  Reasons…..we need reasons.   But it seems the people who just plain ACCEPT their life situations and problems and aren’t so concerned with the whys, have an easier time with all of it.    Kinda like, “oh well,” or “whatever”, or “it is what it is” or even, “it’s God’s will.” That kind of…

“AA” AFFECTIONATELY ARTHUR part two

“AA” AFFECTIONATELY ARTHUR part two

(part two) I’ve given you a picture of my Arthur inside and out. Now I’d like to tell you about he and I, our friendship. Eventually due to his declining health and his need for assistance, Arthur was transferred from independent living in the main building to assisted living. His apartment ended up being right down from my office and we both enjoyed being so close. I’d pop my head in now-and-then to see how he was doin’ and he…

“A.A.” AFFECTIONATELY ART

“A.A.” AFFECTIONATELY ART

PART ONE….. His name is Arthur.   I say IS because he just can’t be dead.   He’s too weird to be dead.   When he left here, he immediately showed up on another planet…I’m sure of it. I saw Arthur the first day of my new job on the Monterey Peninsula in Pacific Grove; an enchanting little Hamlet on the California  Coast. My place of employment had once been a grand hotel where the wealthy ones from San Francisco…
